Head lice are small wingless insects, about 3 millimeters long. They live on human heads and feed on their blood every 4 - 6 hours. Adult lice can live upto 30 days on human head and not more than 2 - 3 days off human head. Adult females lay 5 - 10 eggs per day. So keeping a dozen at time in account on human head nearly 60 -120 eggs are laid every day and imagine the amount of blood they are going to suck off human body every day.
